The Adoption Experience
FARM visits are only allowed with an APPROVED APPLICATION and after approve, horses
adopt only on our contract.
The experience may take some time, it will require paperwork and answering questions, it will require photo updates and a vet screening (a health certificate can suffice) at the end of the first year of adoption, but in the end, you will have given a horse that has known almost only suffering a home and allowed us to make room to save countless others!
Remember, the best things in life are rarely the easiest or most simple
UNDERSTAND that YOU, as an ADOPTER, play a VITAL role in horse rescue.
WE cannot save horses without ADOPTERS and fosters.
This process it not designed for the adopter's comfort and ease, to be honest, it is designed to ensure these animals, having already been through so much neglect, do not see abuse at the hands of man ever again.
If you truly want to see horses saved in a time where so few are given a chance, please consider adoption. It is tougher than buying a horse will be, but it is also more rewarding.
Many people express interest in adoption, but when they see the process involved, they never follow through. Please do not be one of those people. If you're interested, fill out the application, call or email with us. Let us talk you through the process. If you WILL really provide a good home, the process will be easy.
If we are willing to work as hard as we do to save horses lives, then please be willing to put forth the effort to show you provide a quality home. Do not ask us to just "believe" you. That isn't possible. These horses deserve more than misplaced trust. That got many of them in the situations they came from.
We owe these animals, who have often been through a huge amount of abuse, the assurance of a good home, and this process is the ONLY why to give them that.
Remember that without adopters, rescues are forced to cease helping horses, and by going through this process, you not only give a home to a rescue animal, but you ALSO allow us
to save yet another life once they are adopted!
Although we WANT to see horses placed, we will not reduce guidelines to more them more quickly and put them in danger of sub par homes.
We want safe fence and shelter,
healthy hooves,
a well fed horse,
a horse with parasites controlled,
access to a vet if the need arises
and a true desire to keep this horse as long as you can afford to maintain an equine, and this is not too much to ask.
If you are uncomfortable with ALL OF above and checking in with us to show these needs are being met, you would likely be a poor adoption candidate.
WE understand lives can change unexpectedly - if this happens, we ask you contact us, and that you give us time to place the horse in a new home and act as foster home until then.
We understand and require you to understand that these horses have been through hell and are just recovering. Some will need retraining and time! We cannot and will never guarantee the personality and training level of any horse. We can only relay what we have seen and give our best guess on what you can expect from the horses in rescue.
I CANNOT promise a life long and safe home to any horse, but I doall I can to give them the best chance I can at just that!

Disclaimer!
Remember that many horses have been through hell and back, whether they
come from a rescue or are purchased privately. Any horse can require more
time and training to overcome their pasts, no matter where they came from. It is a lucky
and rare horse that doesn't have a past with low points these days
We will always give you an honest account of
a horse's behaviors while with us, but issues
may surface after adoption for any number of reasons.
Please be willing to work through them with your adopted equine; they do deserve it.It is rare a horse has issues that time, proper training and kindness will not heal
